V8 front suspension?

V8 front suspension?

Postby LB_malaga » Tue Mar 29, 2011 7:51 am

morning people,
I'm trying to work out what weight front springs I should use with a rover v8? I've got a set of Bilstiens off a Catarham and after a few weeks of settling the front is sitting on the bump stops. I can any size I need from Avo in Northampton so was just wondering if anyone could recommend a weight?

thanks Andy, hows your chevy going? Im thinking of getting the same weight springs as what Avo spec for a westfield sEight. Iv taken the car out for a drive with these springs and the power makes the front rise a bit so i now need to sort the rear, which drops a lot under aceleration lol

It's not just the spring rate that determines the ride height. It's also what the motorcyclists call preload.
So for bump stop/ride height issues, dont forget that the spring seat may also need to be adjusted to lift the car up (most recent coilovers are adjustable).
Especially the case if the coilovers are from another car
