where is my old S3 Phaeton

Hi all. Apologies if this is in the wrong forum. Many years ago I owned a S3 Phaeton reg Q106RCA .. it was black when I first had it, with a Burton 1600cc Kent engine and 2000E three rail gearbox. It progressed through a 2 litre pinto and a bit of tuning work then the gearbox broke so I fitted a 3 litre Essex V6 and 4 speed gearbox into it and that is the spec when I sold it. t was red in colour in the end aswell.

It went to a guy in Ripon North Yorkshire who fancied a new project after finishing off his Mini convertible project. Ive never been able to trace the car since and I've since moved to derbyshire.

If anyone has any info I would be delighted to hear if it's still around :) I will be at Newark this Sunday with my TVR V8S as the S series yearly meet is tacked onto teh side of the kit car show, so plenty of opportunity to relive my youth looking at Duttons there I hope.

Just found this by chance as I was being sentimental too! I was the original builder/register of the black series 3 Phaeton Q106 RCA. I went down to Brighton as a youngster. Met Tim Dutton (then driving a Lambo himself) and bought the kit. Had it delivered to the Wirrral (North West UK) built it up in 3 months and registered it in Chester. Most mechanical items were purchased from Ian Harwood (Ford Rally Car specialist at the time). The 1600 crossflow was completely rebuilt and a 3 rail gearbox bought from a local specialist. MK2 large drum rear axle and single leaf springs from an RS1600. There was a bonnet bulge fitted to clear the downdraught carb. Gold alloy wheels originally (Demon Tweeks). I still have the original purchase documents and delivery notes etc. from Dutton. I see it has now been through quite a transition. I do hope that it has not been scrapped and is sitting somewhere awaiting some care and attention.
